This was the first Walsh house in Carradoogan . In 1869 John Walsh came from Kilgellia to wed Mary Thornton. Twenty-eight years later, in 1897, Mary's father, Thaddeus, died; John and Mary inherited the house and the associated farm. The family moved to a new house in the 1930's. The old house still stands and is, today, used for storage .
